At TEFT lab, we have two temporary positions as a fellow in machine learning and analysis of large amounts of data for a period of four years, with a duty of employment. This is an educational position that will give promising research recruits opportunity for professional development in the form of doctorate. The positions belong to the Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering at NTNU and will primarily be linked to the PhD program in Information Technology at the Department of Computer Technology and Informatics. The Department of ICT and Science in Ålesund is an employer. NTNU-Sparebanken Møre TEFT-lab is a new research lab in service innovation, entrepreneurship, finance and technology (TEFT), which is a cooperation project with Sparebanken Møre and part of NTNU in Ålesund. The TEFT Lab will contribute to education , research and innovation. The center’s core areas are at the crossroads of technology and economy. For these fellowships there is a particular fo cus on the use of new technology platforms and different techniques for analyzing large amounts of data from banking and financial services. The Center has so far added three fellows in 2018, and it is also planned with two industry PhDs.
Areas of work – Fellowship The positions will contribute to research in machine learning and analysis of financial data related to Open banking
The positions have a 25% duty to be used mainly for support for the work in the Teft lab, as well as teaching and supervision. Alternatively, it may be considered to add in a three-year position without a duty to work.
Qualifications and characteristics
Masters degree / major in ICT or equivalent Strong knowledge and experience from programming such as Python, Matlab etc.
Experience with Big Data, Machine Learning and Platforms like TensorFlow, AML, Microsoft CNTK and Apache Singa
It is an advantage with Hadoop and MapReduce experience Insights into the economics and administrative field are emphasized Knowledge and experience with local and / or international business is a requirement
The minimum requirement to apply is normally grade B or equivalent, both on the master’s thesis and on average the last two years of the master’s degree program (120 credits). Applicants with a weaker grade of background may be occupied if it can be documented that they are particularly suitable for a PhD degree.
You must be independent, have great work capacity and have enthusiasm for research

Personal qualities such as creative, analytical, structured, ability to implement projects will be given special emphasis.
Admission takes place in accordance with the current regulations on employment conditions for posts as postdoctoral, fellow, scientific assistant and specialist candidate of 31.01.06.
Wages and working conditions
The position as a fellow (code 1017) is paid with a minimum gross annual salary of kr. 436 900. From this, 2% of statutory deposits are deducted from the Government Pension Fund.
The appointment is made under the terms and conditions applicable to public officials at all times, and those who are added may find themselves in any changes in the work area.
It is a prerequisite that those who are added settle so that he / she may be present at and available to the institution.
The place of work is Ålesund, but it must be assumed that you stay in Trondheim in connection with the training component and possible residence requirement.
